Formed in a dimly lit garage tucked away in Southampton, we quickly bonded over a shared love for dynamic riffs, introspective lyrics, and heart-pounding beats. Our sound is a blend of raw, gritty energy fused with hypnotic indie grooves. Drawing inspiration from the Arctic Monkeys’ sharp energy, the intensity of Queens of the Stone Age, and the psychedelic rhythms of The Stone Roses, we strive to create a sound that’s both nostalgic and refreshingly modern. With every track, we aim to carve out something uniquely ours—while still tapping into the timeless elements of rock that we’ve always loved.

Four men in a dark music studio, sitting on and around a brown leather couch with black soundproofing foam on the walls behind them. The man in the front center is bald, wearing a black hoodie, and looking directly at the camera. The man to his left sits comfortably on the arm of the sofa, dressed in casual clothes. The two men behind are standing; one has light hair and is making a hand gesture, while the other has dark hair and is resting his hand on his knee.

PAUL NIMMO- VOCALS

Nimzy on stage.

Been singing since 1998. I am into Indie Rock from the 80’s & 90’s.

Influenced by Richard Ashcroft, Josh Homme, Kelly Jones and many more!

I hit high notes, low notes, and occasionally, the right notes. Vocals so powerful they’ve scared a few cats, inspired at least one Nun, and confused a sound engineer into thinking it was feedback. But who gives a f***. If you’re not singing like no one’s listening, you’re doing it wrong.

DAVE VILLAR- GUITAR

I started playing the guitar when I was 14 and I have been in several projects since. I love what we have achieved with Red Light Spies so far.

My influences vary a lot, I love good music from the 60/70’s from my dad’s liking, classic rock, powerful guitar sounds, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd... and of course I love the Beatles!

I also love the 90’s grunge scene thanks to my sister (Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden...) ,the 00’s and indie-rock music.

Music is my passion and it is a life savior for me. My goal is to bring that feeling to many people through our music.

WILL MORSE- BASS

Bassist and Editor, born in the land of Pasty’s and Parish’s- CORNWALL!

Influenced by artists from all years and genres, from the likes of Linkin Park, Tina Turner, The Kinks- to Korean artists like Straykidz and Ateez.

Started playing when I was 14 years old with my grandad as a major influence- and I’ve picked up any instrument I can find since!

STEVE KINGMAN- DRUMS

Drummer for RLS. Loving this band. I can say it’s the best and most enjoyable thing I’ve done in music
My musical influences are wide. From U2, Simple Minds, and massive INXS fan in the 80.s.

One of my recent heroes is Dave Grohl, so rather a big FF fan. In fact, in my top 3 fave songs, is a lesser known FF track. “I am a River’”. Please have a listen.

My favourite Beatles song is “We can work it out”. Oh hang on. No, it’s “ Elenor Rigby’”. No, “Revolution”. Oh, it’s like trying to pick your favourite child. Luckily I only have one.

Oh no, hang on I, have 2. Forgot about the other one!
